Our experienced team are ready to help you; they can answer any questions
about promotional products or ideas you have; even if you can’t find them in our
catalogue or on our website.
They have attempted to answer the questions they get asked most often below.
If your specific question is not answered please ask and
we will find out for you!
Q. How do I place an order for promotional gifts?
A.
Ordering is easy, having identified the promotional items you are interested in
please enter the quantity and print colours required; and then select the "Ask
for Quote" button at the bottom of the product information. Select “Continue
shopping” to add further promotional items to your request or simply complete
your contact details and select “send”. We will reply providing you with
confirmed prices, estimated delivery time, payment details and instructions on
how to confirm your order.
N.B. IF YOUR ORGANISATION REQUIRES YOU TO PROVIDE A PURCHASE ORDER IT IS YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE THIS BEFORE THE ORDER IS PROCESSED. ONLY PERSONS
AUTHORISED TO PLACE ORDERS SHOULD DO SO.
Q. What’s origination for promotional items?
A.
Origination is a term used to describe the make-up process for printing plates,
dyes, templates or embroidery jacquard discs. For multiple colour printing there
is usually a small origination charge for each colour used in your logo or
design. The origination charge is quoted separately as part of your first order;
it is not usual for there to be an origination charge for repeat orders of the
same promotional items.
Q. How long is the delivery time for promotional items?
A.
Normally, most promotional items are delivered in two to three weeks from
artwork sign off. But anything is possible, please ask!
Q. Do you have a minimum order quantity for promotional items?
A.
Most promotional items will have a minimum quantity based on the cost
effectiveness of the origination and set-up for the personalisation of the item.
All our promotional items are listed with minimum order quantities, but again,
anything is possible, please ask!
Q. Will I see a proof of my promotional items before supply?
A.
Yes, we always send a proof via email for sign off before going into production
of your promotional items.
Q. What is screen printing?
A.
This is the most common method of personalising our promotional product ranges.
Each colour of your design is put onto an individual screen. A screen is a frame
with a precision woven mesh stretched tight over it. The screen is coated with a
photo-sensitive emulsion and your image is burned onto it with an ultra violet
light. Screen printing inks are then placed into the frame and the ink is pushed
through the burned image to print the design onto the promotional products of
your choice.
Q. What is engraving?
A.
This type of marking process is produced by using a diamond tipped tool to mark
and etch into the material to produce your design. Engraving leaves a permanent
design on the promotional product.
Q. What is foil blocking?
A.
Foil blocking is referred to by many names; a few are embossing, gold blocking,
blocking.
The print method involves a combination of heat and pressure applied via a block
or die onto a coloured foil; this is stamped on to the promotional product. This
method of printing is particularly popular for leather goods. It is not usually
suitable for multicolour printing or designs with very fine detail.
Q. What is laser engraving?
A.
Laser engraving can be used to decorate many promotional items, but is mainly
used on metals. It leaves a black or dark grey image on the metal surface. The
process involves laser printing dots; very similar to the way your paper printer
prints. Laser engraving can reproduce highly detailed graphic images. The finish
is a high quality marking that captures good detail of the chosen image
Q. What is embroidery?
A.
Embroidery is a method of stitching a design or logo onto fabric; for
promotional clothing this is done using computer controlled embroidery machines.
Firstly your design is "digitised"; a process which converts your design into a
software language the embroidery machine understands. This code then controls
the stitching of the design and the colours onto the promotional garments.
Q. What is print position?
A.
Some promotional items have a number of different places where your personalised
branding could appear. We will ask you to indicate if you have a preferred
position; for example on a business folder you may want to have your logo
printed in bottom right hand corner or in the centre.
